EXPLORE LAGUNA


Located southeast of Manila, Laguna 

One of the nearest tourist destinations from the Metro Manila is Laguna. It will only take you a short ride to reach this province which has a lot of interesting places to offer. And due to its proximity you’ll certainly have no problems coming back to visit its variety of tourist attractions.




One of the most popular cities is San Pablo which is known for its seven lakes. The most beautiful and the largest among of which is the Sampaloc Lake. It is located near the city proper and offers a number of restaurants to choose from so you certainly won’t get hungry as you try to explore this natural wonder. If you’re in San Pablo, it would be advisable to go on a side trip to Villa Escudero or Hidden Valley springs.






Another natural wonder that you shouldn’t miss is the beautiful Pagsanjan falls. The usual trip going to the falls is done via boat where you will be going against the rapids but another alternative is by hiking.



If you can’t get enough of nature then head to the town of Cavinti which is abundant in falls, rivers, lakes, caves and mountains. If you’re the type of traveler who prefers off-the-beaten-path destinations then this is where you need to be. Cavinti still has a lot of unexplored tourist sites such as the Bumbungan twin falls, the Bayakan falls and bat cave and the Cavinti Underground River and caves complex, the most promising of them all.




If you’re a fan of theme parks then head on to Santa Rosa which is home to Enchanted Kingdom, the Philippines’ very own version of Disneyland. This world-class amusement park offers a variety of attractions and is ideal for a weekend trip with family and friends. Make sure that you stay until 9:00 pm so you can witness the magical fireworks display which happens every weekend nights.



 The heritage town of Pila is another interesting place to visit in Laguna as it features well-preserved houses that have been standing since the Spanish colonial era. They have a number of Filhispanic houses that are still intact which can actually rival those that are located in Vigan and Taal. What’s great about this town is that its people are very serious and dedicated when it comes to heritage conservation.



And to make your trip to Laguna even more memorable, don’t forget to try out their selection of delicacies such as Buko pie, Espasol, White cheese, Shing-a-ling and other treats that you and your travel companions will surely love.
